Inclusive Workplace Events
02 · Workplaces
Make every work event welcoming for everyone.
Ratio designs inclusive non-alcoholic beverage programs for workplace events — company socials, all-hands, holiday parties, and client dinners. We ensure non-drinkers, sober employees, and anyone choosing not to drink feel considered, not accommodated. Programs start at $1,500 for a single event.

Nº 01 — The tension
001 / 003
Someone on your team feels excluded at a company event. You may not know who.
The holiday party. The Friday social. The client dinner. The team offsite. Every one of these has someone who doesn't drink — sober, pregnant, religious, health-focused, driving home, or just not in the mood — and the offering is cola or sparkling water.
This isn't a niche issue. 76% of workers in recent UK survey work want their work-related gatherings to be liberated from alcohol. The person who feels excluded at your company party is not an edge case. They might be your best engineer.
The fix isn't removing alcohol. It's making the non-alcoholic options as beautiful, as delicious, and as worth talking about as the cocktail menu. That's what an inclusive beverage program does.
Nº 02 — What this looks like
002 / 003
Not a sidebar. A real program.
A signature non-alcoholic beverage at the welcome table — something that photographs well and tastes like someone cared. Not a juice in a pitcher.
A dedicated non-alc section of the bar that reads with intention — not a random footnote at the bottom of the drink menu.
Options that match the occasion: a zero-proof aperitif for the client dinner, a functional tonic for the afternoon session break, something celebratory for the toast. Every moment mapped.
Staff or bartender briefing so nobody gets the "we have some mocktails, I think?" response. The server describes the non-alc options with the same confidence as the wine list.
Nº 03 — The framing
003 / 003
Wellness. Modern hospitality. Inclusive amenity.
This is not about compliance or accommodation. It's about the signal your company sends with the small decisions. The fridge. The bar. The drinks at the offsite.
Frame it as wellness and modern hospitality — because that's what it is. The companies that do this well don't announce it as a policy. They just have a bar where everyone finds something great, and people notice.
HR leaders are adopting this framing because it works. The momentum behind alcohol-inclusive (rather than alcohol-centered) workplace initiatives has been building for years and the data is now overwhelming.

Nº — Common questions
FAQ
Is this just for sober employees?
No — it's for everyone who sometimes doesn't want to drink, which is most people at some point. Pregnant colleagues, people on medication, designated drivers, anyone intentionally health-conscious, anyone who wants something better than a cola. The program makes the bar work for everyone.
How is this different from just ordering some mocktails?
A program is designed. We map the non-alc options to the event flow, select products that match your company's taste level, and brief the catering staff. The difference is visible.
Can you work with our existing caterer?
Yes. We design the non-alc program and provide the details. Your caterer executes, or we source and deliver directly. Either way, the curation is ours and the celebration is yours.
How do we talk about this internally without making it awkward?
You don't need to announce it. Just make the bar better. When the non-alc options are good enough, people notice organically. If you want to message it, frame it as 'we upgraded our bar program' — not 'we added options for non-drinkers.'
What does this cost for a holiday party?
A single-event program starts at $1,500, which covers curation, sourcing, and a staff briefing. The beverages themselves are billed separately at best available cost. For a 100-person holiday party with full non-alc service for the whole room, expect $1,500-$3,000 in product costs on top of the program fee.
